Our College provides modern, bright classrooms for class-based learning. We provide a Learning Centre for collaborative and individualised learning. Areas exist dedicated to the pathways outlined in our Teaching & Learning programs. And, just to be clear, our goal is to be one of the leading educational providers in Melbourne within a decade.

Our highly qualified and experienced teachers actively support each student through their learning journey by facilitating open communication between students and staff.

Our students demonstrate commitment, hard work, resilience, perseverance, a passion to improve, and positivity; all qualities required by the Victorian Certificate of Education. North Melbourne Grammar College embraces and celebrates diversity; the community will support each individual to develop the skills and knowledge required to become leaders in the modern world.

Our Campus

North Melbourne Grammar College is a senior secondary school that is close to the heart of Melbourne. The school is located inside a traditional two storey building complex which has been converted into a modern centre for schooling. Our vision is to create a thriving inner urban school complex.

Our Campus is located near the heart of one of the World’s Most Liveable Cities – Melbourne! We are just to the east of the prestigious University of Melbourne. The beautiful parklands of Royal Park are just a short walk from the Campus.

The Campus is just 2.5km from Melbourne City’s centre with lots of public transport options available. Macaulay Station is only a short walk away and is only 2 stops from the City Centre. We are surrounded by a rich diversity of food, cultural, sporting, recreational, medical and other facilities.

We are on the northern fringe of Melbourne’s CBD (approximately 2.5km from Melbourne’s CBD). We are close to several train, tram and bus stops.

Our Facilities

At present, NMGC’s Campus has around a dozen formal classrooms including well equipped IT rooms. The Campus is fully equipped with WIFI facilities. All classrooms are well equipped and include audio visual displays. We have plans to add more classroom space to the Centre. By 2017 we intend to add a new Science Centre and additional classroom spaces to our facilities. We have a Student Kitchen area equipped with fridges, microwaves and other facilities.

This is available for student use throughout the day. Our Student Resource Centre is an area where students can study, collaborate and access a variety of resources to assist them with their studies.

We have a student passive recreation area which students can access during break times.

Our Staff

Our teachers are all members of the Victorian Institute of Teaching and are expected to comply with VIT Regulations.

All our staff have thorough knowledge of the VCE program and are highly motivated to advance their knowledge onto others. Our VCE teaching staff have current registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT). VIT registered teachers employed by the NMGC abide by the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers implemented during 2013.

Our student support admin officers are highly dedicated focusing all their efforts to provide professional, courteous and efficient student administration services to all our students.

Our admin staff are always in their desk to liaise with current and new students regarding enquiries about subjects and all other course related activities.

At NMGC we believe that every student is one caring staff away from being a success story.
